Bruiser 4x4 was born from a simple but powerful idea: South Africans deserve a state of the art off-road caravan that is as tough as the land we love to explore and as comfortable as the home we return to.

For many years, we have been designing & building caravans most importantly listening to want they want in an off-road caravan. People wanted well designed, easy to use and setup, strength & reliability, not complex systems that fail in the middle of nowhere. They wanted the freedom to customise, because adventure is personal, and so is the gear that carries you there.

Legendary toughness is only half of the Bruiser 4x4 story. Inside every model, you’ll find a calm, refined, beautifully finished space designed to feel like a retreat after a long day on the trail. Soft textures, custom colours, high-quality vinyl surfaces, double-glazed windows, premium mattresses, clever lighting, well-appointed kitchen slider units, external hatches and thoughtful storage that turn each caravan into a sanctuary.

We created a platform that lets customers personalise & customise the finishes, textures and colours to bespoke power systems, external hatch layouts, and upgrades.

The Bruiser 4x4 family includes the following models:

• Renegade

2-sleeper fixed bed with interior basin, porta-potti, A/C, external shower

• Expander

2-sleeper with a slide-out bed for bigger living with internal area, full wet room with flushable luxury toilet

• Commando

4-sleeper for families with rear slide-out bed for bigger internal living and seating area that converts into bunk beds for versatility

• Maximus

4-sleeper a double-axle beast built for those who want the ultimate in space and capability. Boasting full bathroom, separate shower, internal upright fridge, rear slide out main bed (separate bedroom) and side dinette table that slides out to create a second double bed.

Bruiser 4x4 chassis are designed to be exceptionally strong and tough, under pinned by a 5mm thick steel A-frame which is doubled up beneath the Leaf springs, supported by heavy duty shackles and bolts with 16mm bolts. We prefer 2.5ton Parabolic leaf springs for their strength and softer ride. The 2ton 50mm square beam axle is held in place with 16mm U bolts, 16mm heavy duty plates and spring seats. Each Bruiser 4x4 caravan is fitted with 3 x 16inch Black steel Rims & A/T Tyres 6 stud 140mm PCD (these can be upgrade to 17inch or per client’s preferences)

Due to the road conditions in Africa and the remote areas in which our customers explore we the Bruiser 4x4 caravan is built using robust, tried and tested (old school) 2.5ton beam axles which are easy to maintain & get spare. The axles are fitted with 250mmx50mm brake drums to allow better braked capacity. All units are supplied with a spare set of bearings free of charge. Our single axle caravans are fitted with 2ton brake couplers and the double axles with 2.7ton couplers. Our caravans all come standard with a 60mm Jockey wheel and 4 x swivel type stabilizer legs, wheel spanner & crank handle wheel spanner.

Our caravan body is constructed using a combination of 3CR12 stainless steel, 1.2mm & 1.5mm aluminium & fibreglass. The body panels are bonded with high quality polyurethanes and old school mechanical anchoring methods, the body is so strong that it does not rely on the chassis to maintain its structural strength. The insulation properties are provided through using locally sourced 25mm Rigibond Lamdbaboard insulation (R-value 1.10m2K/W @0.85kg/m2) which is light weight, rigid, flame retardant & chemical resistant.

Exterior finish – the caravan is coated in a durable Raptor coating (scratch, UV & stain resistant).

Interior finish – internal walls are covered with a Vinyl architectural film (client to select colours & textures). All high wear areas, roof and under bed are covered with a durable carpet easy to clean. Each caravan is fitted with Rip stop canvas cupboard doors, storage pouches, all doors and openings are fitted with mosquito screens.

All our windows are double glazed, tinted with full block out blind & retractable mosquito screen. Internal cupboards are fitted with canvas doors and strap to keep clothes in place. All our Mattresses are 120mm thick, made up of different layers of foam. The outer layer is 20mm Gel infused foam with similar properties to memory foam but is cooler to sleep on.

The interior walls are finished in a high quality Vinyl film (custom colours and textures are available).

Kitchen pantry hatches, all feature a roller shutter door to gain access from the inside display shelves and storage for groceries. All have a 220v power point and 12v USB charging point. Front storage hatch is perfect for storing side walls, ground sheets etc.

Fridge slider units are 1200mm long, mounted on super heavy duty sliding rails. They are designed to fit most camping fridges, currently available on the market. The drinks hatch above the fridge slider unit is furnished with (real glass) whiskey, beer and wine glasses in foam inserts.

All our caravans feature a stainless steel, top pull-out kitchen unit with a 4 place crockery & cutlery foam inserts. They are all fitted with a luxury glass top 2 plate gas hob, some are supplied with a wash basin and mixer unit depending on model.

All our caravans are fitted with either a 120ltr or 2x75ltr fresh water tank (please see models for details) they supplied by reliable 10ltr/min 12v water pump. The caravans are fitted with an internal bathroom, which will be supplied with a flushable luxury toilet on shower floor, shower screen, mirror & accessories, washbasin, mixer with pull-out nozzle.

All our caravans are fitted as standard with a 100A/h Lithium battery protected by a battery isolator switch and 12v fuse box. The lights are control by a 6 way Lumeno light switch panel (with volt meter, USB & cigarette socket), extra internal 12v USB charger point, 2 x LED reading lights, all hatches fitted with LED lights. Each caravan is supplied with ample external lights with white & amber.

Battery charging is done through a 1 x 220v 15A/h Victron IP65 AC/DC charger and a WRND DC/DC & MMPT dual charger with a connection to the coupler. The battery is monitored by a Bluetooth battery monitor system. Each caravan is fitted with additional Brad Harris ports and 12v Cigarette/Hella plug ports for additional external 12v power.

We offer full customisation of the 12v system in the way of Victron Inverters, solar controllers, Solar panels (mounted or portable) DC/DC charging and Flexopower power stations.

Each caravan is supplied with a 10m caravan cable and shore power hook up point to distribution board and a minimum of 5 x 220v power points (2 x inside, 1 x inside LH hatch, 1 x under bed, 1 x inside fridge hatch), 2 x 220v USB socket.
